We recently traveled to Oahu for a 4-day HD production at the Beach Villas at Ko Olina Resort.  While there we had the opportunity to work with a fabulous new production tool the SuperTechno 30 ft camera crane.  I must admit there was a little initial trepidation as we rigged our baby (the Panasonic Varicam HD cinema camera) to this monstrosity of a crane and watched it soar over 30 feet into the air, but WOW, what a beautiful new perspective it brought to our shots.  We used the crane for not only high overhead shots, but also for low angles, reveals and other unique shots not normally available with tripod and dolly.
